Bob Marley and The Wailers

The legend born Robert Nesta Marley in 1945 forever changed the world. Bob Marley's music career began as a teen in the early 1960's where along with Bunny "Wailer" Livingston and Peter "Tosh" McIntosh such hits as Simmer down were recorded.

Simmer down followed the Ska style with influences of New Orleans rhythm and blues. But soon, the Wailing Wailers began the transformation to rocksteady, a slowed version of Ska.

It wasn't until 1971 with the release of Catch a Fire did Bob's Rastafarai influences make the main stage. This hallmark album marked the transition to what we know as reggae today. Soon followed the release of 9 more albums and many tours throughout the world in the 1970's shaped roots reggae forever. With each release Bob Marley gained more international fame and was the band of the day throughout the this time. However on May 11th, 1981 Robert Nesta Marley left us and was instantly converted into a legend and for some a prophet. The mark of peace, one love, and rastafari live on through his music.
